It is no secret that there has been a recent trend of workers choosing to telecommute or work from home instead of returning to the office. There are many reasons for this, but most people would say that it has to do with the flexibility and comfort that comes with working from home. We will take a closer look at some of the real reasons why workers are choosing not to go back to the office.

1. The office is just too darn boring

Let’s face it, the office can be pretty boring. You’re stuck in the same place, day after day, with the same people. It’s no wonder that so many workers are choosing to work from home instead!

2. The commute is a pain

For many workers, the commute to and from the office is a real pain. It can be long and stressful, and it can take up a lot of time that could be spent working or relaxing at home.

3. Office politics are the worst

We’ve all been there: you’re minding your own business, working hard, when suddenly you’re dragged into some ridiculous office politics drama. It’s exhausting, and it’s one of the main reasons why workers are choosing to stay away from the office.

4. The office is just too distracting

Between the constant chatter, the ringing phones, and the general hustle and bustle of the office, it can be tough to focus on your work. When you’re working from home, you can create the perfect environment for productivity, without any distractions.

5. You can’t wear what you want

Let’s be honest, the office dress code can be pretty stifling. If you’re someone who likes to express yourself through your clothes, then working from home is definitely the way to go.

6. You can’t control the temperature

Whether it’s too hot or too cold, the office temperature is often out of our control. When you’re working from home, you can adjust the temperature to your liking, so you can be comfortable and productive all day long.

7. You miss out on family time

If you have young children, then the thought of going back to the office and spending all day away from them can be unbearable. When you work from home, you can make your own hours and spend more time with your family.

8. You’re just not a people person

Some people are simply not cut out for the traditional office setting. If you’re someone who prefers to work alone, or if you just don’t like being around people all day, then working from home is definitely the better option.

At the end of the day, it’s up to each individual worker to decide whether they want to return to the office or continue working from home. There are pros and cons to both choices, but ultimately it comes down to what makes the most sense for you and your lifestyle. Whichever option you choose, make sure you’re doing what’s best for you!
